Exactly. Allan Ray from Villanova was also a top 5 NCAA player this past season. But he didn't even get drafted and had to sign for the minimum with Boston.

Reddik(k) Was one of the best college basketball players but that does not translate into success in the NBA. He wasn't looked at by scouts because he is a slow white kid, which sucks. He doesn't have enough athleticism to play in the NBA, so some people say. He will NOT go #1. And if he does, the guy with the #1 pick is a fool. See, I don't get that. I understand why you and the rest of teh world have that opinion, but why does NO ONE else besides me give him a chance of being the next reggie miller??

He's my favorite player of all-time. I like him more than Wade, Kobe, LeBron, anybody! (Other than MJ, of course) I think he can become great, but he has to work twice as hard as everyone else because he's less athletic. He'll have to work twice as hard on defense, which means he'll have less energy to produce on offense. It may take him two or three years before he gets used to that. He may never get used to it, he might not be able to. I have confidence in him, but he is NOT a number 1 pick and will never be as good as Reggie Miller. I love the way he plays and the way he shoots, but he doesn't have the speed, or athleticism that these guys have today. He's at a disadvantage right out of the gate, and he is only 6' 4" which is small for a player today in a world where players can jump so high. It will be harder for him to get his shot off in the NBA.

Let me ask you one question POR, " How much did you hear about Kyle Korver coming out of college?" Not much, am I right? So you can't compare the two. Reddik was one of the TOP scorers in the NCAA! He is guaranteed to get a team some points. And guess who wins in basketball? Whoever gets the most points! I agree, he's slow and can't play much defense, but this kid can shoot better than Korver can. And Korver is a decent player in the NBA, Reddik will probably be better!

I disagree with the scoring part, when is the last time that an offensive minded team win a championship? The Spurs? The Pistons? The Heat? Even the Bulls with MJ and Pippen played great D....so why am i not seeing the great scoring teams like the Suns or the Nets making to the finals. Defense now is more valuable than offense, so a kid who can only shoot will not be a superstar in the NBA, and by only shoot, i mean he doesnt even have the speed to beat a defender to the hoop.

I never said he'd be a superstar. He can become a great role player. He'll never be a superstar. And teams have to have great defense to win, of course, but when you have you seen a purely defensive team win the championships other than Detroit? And the Ntes did make the Finals a couple years back. What about the three-peat Lakers? Kobe and Shaq can play D, but they were mainly offensive. Same with the Heat this year. And Dallas is a great offensive team that made it to the Finals this year. I agree that they only got there because of their improved defensive play, but the offense helps. And the Bulls played D, but guess what got them over the hump and into the Finals, the Triangle OFFENSE!
